Echoic Recursion selected for the epistemologies of slop at tiat - San Francisco

Echoic Recursion has been selected for the epistemologies of slop, a group exhibition at tiat in San Francisco - a gallery at the intersection of art and technology.

The exhibition brings together artists, technologists, writers, and researchers to investigate how knowledge, belief, taste, and cultural legitimacy are shaped within algorithmically mediated realities. It is a timely and crowded question, and a context that fits the work closely.

Echoic Recursion operates as a distributed relay of microphones, AI processing, and synthetic voices - a system that is always listening and always speaking. Visitor speech is captured, reinterpreted, and retransmitted, drifting further from its origin with each pass. The system continuously attempts coherence. Meaning does not disappear. It drifts.

The work joins a programme of over twenty works by international artists and includes a series of events running through July 2026. The exhibition runs 26 June - 25 July 2026 at tiat, San Francisco. Full programme at https://www.tiat.place/slop-epistemologies
